COACH SHAYNE THOMAS
Varsity Assistant Coach

"I was born and raised in Huntington Beach, CA. I played multiple sports growing up with Hockey being my favorite. That changed when I started playing lacrosse as a sophomore at Huntington Beach High School. After High-School I traveled to Minnesota where I have a lot of family to play lacrosse for the University of Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs. I played 4 years there from 10’ to 13’ and was a three-year starter at Defensive Midfield. We won our conference every year I was there and were regulars at the MCLA National Tournament. I majored in Communication and minored in Coaching. I have overall 7 plus years of coaching experience at the Youth, High School (Minneapolis HS), and Select (Minnesota Chill) level. I recently moved down to Plano at the beginning of 2017 and spent last spring helping coach the 3-4 and K-2 teams within Plano Youth Lacrosse .
“I am very excited to get back to coaching at the high school level. I see a lot of potential surrounding the program and opportunities to develop players into well-rounded lacrosse players. I think my experience, knowledge, and leadership will benefit the program and I am looking forward to further building positive and influential relationships with the players and personnel in Plano Lacrosse.”
In my free time, I like to stay active by playing Men’s league Lacrosse, Hockey, and working out. I also like to cook and eat with my favorite food being authentic Mexican food. I enjoy hanging with my family here and playing with my nephews. I also enjoy snowboarding, traveling, watching football and hockey, and attending concerts. I work as a Technical Recruiter for a Staffing Agency in Irving, TX."

Coach Harley was raised in Connecticut where he was fortunate enough to play for some stellar programs which allowed for a successful recruiting process. At Fairfield College Prep he helped the Jesuits win 3 State Championships, and later attended Deerfield Academy for a PG year to gain additional recruitment exposure. Afterward he played for Coach Tierney at the University of Denver to help the Pioneers attend one quarterfinal and two semifinal appearances.      Aside from lacrosse, Coach Harley enjoys dabbling in projects that serve social & environmental causes. His current project, Lax4, recruits athletes as volunteers to aid local veteran organic farmers. In college, he assisted Bridgeport Youth Lacrosse (CT) in gaining reliable transportation for their players.     Look for Coach running around Frisco as he trains for the Dallas Marathon, or on his bike taking up more road than is probably desired. He is a certified personal trainer who enjoys an endorphin rush. He's also a true boarder in the snow or on the concrete wave who flows into Plano with a stoked flame to help bring the Wildcats to the State 'Ship!
